This eccentric Japanese fashion designer, Kansai Yamamoto, is making a come back in to the fashion industry after 20 years in entertainment. One of his first stops was the 19th New Britain Mask Festival in Kokopo, Papua New Guinea.
Most famous for dressing pop icon David Bowie on the Star Dust tour 40 years ago, Yamamoto came to Papua New Guinea to find inspiration for his London fashion show later in the year.
How exciting to be part of an ancient culture that the world’s top artists continue to look at for inspiration.
